Birchman Putts 4 dough....

Birchman is pleased to announce that we are proud sponsors of the putt4dough Charity event.

The inaugural Putt4dough IT golf charity day will be held at Burswood Park Golf Course in Perth on Thursday 28 October 2010.

Putt4dough believes that the kids of today are our future, and by supporting the Princess Margaret Hospital foundation, they are helping to improve the quality of life of sick Western Australian children.

Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation is the official fundraising body for Princess Margaret Hospital for Children (PMH), Western Australia’s only specialist children’s hospital.  Since the Foundation was first established in 1998, they have raised more than $24 million to fund life-saving research and capital projects. They have also funded close to a quarter of the equipment currently used by the hospital.

These incredible results for thousands of sick and injured children are made possible by the ongoing support of the generous Western Australian community.

For those that would like to take part in this fabulous event or require further information then please visit the putt4dough website at  www.putt4dough.info

We do hope that some of our employees will contribute to making this inaugural event a success for all involved, but more importantly a success for the Children of Western Australia.

Birchman takes part in Earth Hour

On Saturday, March 27 2010 at 8:30 pm, The Birchman Group will take part in Earth Hour – the world’s largest global climate change initiative led by the World Wildlife Fund. By simply turning out all non-essential lighting for one hour – at our company buildings and in our own homes – we will join hundreds of millions of concerned citizens across the globe in showing the world we can work together to resolve the issue of global warming.

In 2008, more than 50 million people in 400 cities around the world took part, as the lights dimmed at Sydney’s Opera House, Rome’s Coliseum and the Empire State Building. Even the Google homepage went dark for the day. In Israel, President Shimon Peres personally turned off lights in Tel Aviv.

In March 2009, hundreds of millions of people took part in the third Earth Hour. Over 4000 cities in 88 countries officially switched off to pledge their support for the planet, making Earth Hour 2009 the world’s largest global climate change initiative.
To get a better sense of the magnitude and inspiring nature the event, please take a moment to watch WWF’s video about Earth Hour 2010 at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FclcMfzjwug

Energy efficiency isn’t just good for the bottom line. We all have a stake in the future of our planet and must learn to operate in ways that don’t deplete our world’s limited natural resources.

Joining Earth Hour is a great way to show our customers and our community that the people of The Birchman Group genuinely care about their future and are showing leadership in the battle against the most critical issue facing the planet today.
We hope you’ll join us in the important and inspiring effort and turn out all non-essential lighting for one hour at our company buildings at your location encourage your local employees to take part.

Participating in Earth Hour is easy, fun and absolutely free. To get more information visit www.earthhour.org and pledge to turn out all nonessential lights from 8:30-9:30 pm on March 27, 2010.
